Complete the plant tear down before moving thiscomponent away from the immediate vicinity.5.Asphalt Tanker Tear Down Procedures(See Figure 2-17)ItemProcedure1Remove all asphalt from asphalt tank. The asphalt should be transferredto a suitable transport/storage vehicle.2Disconnect all control and power cables and store on brackets provided.3Disconnect the air line from the divert valve. Store this line on thebaghouse.4Disconnect the asphalt feed line.5Disconnect the asphalt jacketed line from the asphalt tank to the drummixer. Disconnect the heat transfer hoses to the jacketed line.CAUTIONEnsure there Is no pressure on the line and that protective clothing isworn. Cover the joints with a protective cover (heavy canvas blanket orsimilar materiel) as the joint is opened. The blanket will deflect any liquidasphalt pressure and protect the operator. This operation is best doneafter the system has cooled.6Connect the hydraulic power pack and raise the trailer using the levellingjacks so that the weight is removed from the screw jacks.7Remove the pads from the screw levelling legs and stow the pads andlegs in the transport position.8Lower the chassis onto the landing jacks in the transport position.9Fully retract the levelling jacks and disconnect the hydraulic power pack.10Stow hot oil transfer lines, asphalt lines, fuel lines and air lines in thebasket provided on the side of the drum meter.page 2 - 61
