TM 5-3895-374-10III. OPERATING PROCEDURES2-12 Operation Under Usual ConditionsThis section presents operating instructions for the M081 Asphalt Mixing Plant. It is essential that all operators becomethoroughly familiar with the location and proper use of controls, instruments, accessories and safety equipment, as well asthe particular handling characteristics of the AMP. Operating instructions are contained in sections 2-13 through 2-20.These instructions are divided into the following categories:Plant Start UpIncreasing Plant ProductionDecreasing Plant ProductionHot Shut DownHot StartShut DownSurge Bin OperationDedrummer/Melter OperationNOTEBefore and during all operations of the Asphalt Mixing Plant, the operator will monitor the plant forleaks, materiel spillage and other indicators of a possible malfunction. In the event an operatingmalfunction occurs perform a normal plant shut down or a corrective action as listed in section 2-21.In the event a personnel threatening emergency occurs, the operation shall be discontinuedimmediately. An emergency stop (RED) button is located in the comer panel and is intended forthis situation.The M081 Asphalt Mixing Plant is a portable asphalt mixing facility.
