INTRODUCTION1.ScopeThis RPSTL lists and authorizes spares and repair parts;special tools; special test, measurement, and diagnosticequipment (TMDE); and other special support equipmentrequired for performance of Unit, Direct Support, andGeneral Support Maintenance of the Asphalt Melter,Model STMD-3000A. It authorizes the requisitioning,issue, and disposition of spares, repair parts and specialtools as indicated by the source, maintenance andrecoverability (SMR) codes.2.General.In addition to Section I. Introduction, this Repair Partsand Special Tools List is divided into the followingsections:a.Section II. Repair Parts List. A list of sparesand repair parts authorized by this RPSTL foruse in the performance of maintenance. The listalso includes parts which must be removed forreplacement of the authorized parts. Parts listsare composed of functional groups in ascendingalphanumeric sequence, with the parts in eachgroup listed in ascending figure and item numbersequence. Bulk materials are listed in itemname sequence. Repair kits are listedseparately in their own functional group withinSection II. Repair parts for repairable specialtools are also listed in the section. Items listedare shown on the associatedillustration(s)/figure(s).b.Section III. Special Tools List. A list of specialtools, special TMDE, and other special supportequipment authorized by this RPSTL (asindicated by Basis of Issue (BOI) information inDESCRIPTION AND USABLE ON CODEcolumn) for the performance of maintenance.c.Section IV Cross-reference Indexes. A list, inNational Item Identification Number (NIIN)sequence, of all National stock numbered itemsappearing in the listing, followed by a list inalphanumeric sequence of all part numbersappearing; in the listings. National stocknumbers and part numbers are cross-referencedto each illustration, figure and item numberappearance. The figure and item number indexlists figure and item numbers in alphanumericsequence and cross-references NSN, CAGECand part numbers.3.Explanation of Columns (Sections II and III).a.ITEM NO. (Column (1)). Indicates the numberused to identify items called out in the illustration.b.SMR CODE (Column (2)). The Source,Maintenance, and Recoverability (SMR) code isa 5-position code containingsupply/requisitioning information, maintenancecategory authorization criteria, and dispositioninstruction, as shown in the following breakout:* Complete Repair: Maintenance capacity, capability, andauthority to perform all corrective maintenance tasks ofthe "Repair" function in a use/user environment in orderto restore serviceability to a failed item.(1)Source Code.
