TM 5-3895-374-24PORDERING PARTS:When ordering parts, specify Screw Conveyor Drivesize and serial number, part name, part number and quantity.Parts that must be pressed from shafts or output hubshould be removed before ordering parts. This assures thatthose parts, if damaged during pressing operation, will bereplaced.It is recommended that when a pinion or gear isreplaced, its mating gear or pinion be replaced also. Thisensures that the gear teeth will mesh properly. If the large gearon the output hub must be replaced, it is suggested that anoutput hub assembly, consisting of a gear assembled on anoutput hub, be ordered to secure an output hub with undamagedsurfaces on which the oil seals rub. However, if the old outputhub is to be used, carefully press the gear and bearing conesoff. Thoroughly examine the area under the oil seals forscratches or any other damage resulting from the pressingoperation. To prevent oil leak- age at the oil seals, the rubbingarea must be smooth.Replacements for the old oil seals should be ordered,due to the probability of these parts being damaged duringdisassembly.If replacing a bearing, output hub or a shaft, it isadvisable to order a set of shims for adjustment of bearings onthe shaft assembly. If replacing a housing, a set of shims shouldbe ordered for each shaft assembly because the adjustment ofthe bearings on each shaft assembly is affected.page C6 - 13
