INTERVAL CHECK/ PROCEDURE CAPABLE IF: SERVICE NOTE Perform Weekly as well as Before operation if: 1.  You are the assigned operator and have not operated the Melter since the last weekly PMCS. 2.  You are operating the Melter for the first time. 1. General Before a.  Visually check inside tunnel and storage tank for moisture.  If present, dry before operation. Before b.  Visually check for damaged piping or hoses. Before/ Class III leaks are detected. During c.  Visually check for evidence of fluid leakage. Before d.  Inspect heat transfer oil and asphalt piping for proper connections. 2. Controls and Instruments Before a.  Visually inspect thermometer for Broken or missing. damage and loose mounting. During b.  Periodically observe thermometer for proper operating temperature.  (200- 250 Degrees F Normal Operation) Before/ c.  Check valves for leakage or Class III leak is detected. During damage and proper operation. E-1 WARNING Operating the equipment when it is wet could cause the asphalt to boil and catch on fire.  The results could cause serious bodily injury or death.
